Hillsborough Boys J F C will be having open trials from 10am to 12 noon for season 10-11 on the pitches behind Lisburn Leisureplex on 31st July Open Trials

Our Presentation Day was in stark contrast to last years, the sun shone the whole day.

Because of the unavailability of afternoon pitches we had to run a Knock Out over the morning with Lisburn Youth narrowly beating their Mayors Cup Final opponents 1-0 in the Final.

Domo McEnhill (Lisburn Youth), Aaron Grimshaw (Eddie Irvine Sports) and Ethan McBurney (Abbey Villa) all tied for the Top Goal scorer of the Tournament while Lewis Smylie (Shankill Juniors) won the Player of the Tournament.

Caitlyn Hamilton Special mention must go to Caitlyn Hamilton (Sirocco Youth). Caitland has this season set a marker for George Best League Player of the Matches for future players to aim for, the marker is now 16 POM's, an outstanding achievement.

Well done recording breaking Lisburn Youth. This season Lisburn Youth 2000s squad have went undefeated and cleaned up in every competition. High praise goes to Coaches Neill Caswell and Jim Gowdy, with a squad of only 16 players they have produced a side which is exciting to watch and though a couple of GBL teams have run them close, the high team morale and belief in themselves helped them achieved what is an outstanding achievement.

The league would like to thank Glen (Spike) Ferguson for presenting the Prentice Roofing George Best Cup and Medals.

On behalf of Gary and myself I would like to thank all players, parents and coaches for giving up their spare time to attend.

To those players who have not made the final squad, to make a selection stage is a huge achievement on it's own and hopefully the experienced gained will help in the future should a similar occasion arise.

The standard this season has been extremely high and it has been a difficult if not near impossible job ascertaining the final squad.
